Rotted planks, pest damage, and failed sealant are the most common issues we see on New Britain, CT wood siding, and most are fixable without a full replacement.
We stock properly kiln-dried, moisture-treated cedar rather than green lumber prone to warping after install.
Wood-safe sealants and stains are matched to your climate exposure, not a one-size-fits-all product.
Wood siding installation and repair require different technique than vinyl or fiber cement — our crews are trained specifically for it.
We carry the insurance appropriate for specialty wood exterior work.
Active rot or pest infestation gets prioritized quickly since it spreads if left alone.
Seasonal staining and sealing work gets scheduled around New Britain, CT's weather windows.
Board repair, staining, and full installation are priced separately so you can choose the right scope for your budget.
Specialty profiles like board and batten or shake are quoted accurately, not lumped into a generic siding estimate.
Wood siding rewards proper maintenance and punishes neglect faster than most other materials.
We plan pattern and exposure before the first shingle goes up, not adjusted mid-install. Shake exposure — how much of each shingle shows — gets set consistently across the wall for an even weathered look.
Rotted or damaged tongue-and-groove and lap boards get replaced individually with matched profile and species. We match board width and reveal to the surrounding original planks, not just the species.
Carpenter ant, termite, and woodpecker damage get assessed and repaired, with any pest issue flagged for separate treatment. We probe surrounding boards beyond the visibly damaged one, since rot and pest activity often spread further than they appear.
We match stain color and sheen to your home's existing look or help you choose a refresh. Wood moisture content gets checked before staining, since sealing over damp wood traps moisture rather than blocking it.
Traditional board and batten profiles installed with correctly planned batten spacing before the first board goes up. Batten width and spacing get mocked up on-site before final installation so you approve the rhythm of the pattern.
Poor ventilation behind wood siding is a leading cause of premature rot — we correct airflow issues during repair or re-side work. {A simple rainscreen gap behind the boards can solve a chronic moisture problem without changing the visible material at all.|We check soffit vent function as part of any wood siding ventilation assessment.}
We'll ask about board species and age to gauge scope before scheduling.
We assess ventilation and sheathing condition behind any damaged section.
You get a written price for repair, staining, or new installation, itemized by scope.
Repairs or installation proceed with proper moisture treatment and sealing at every cut and joint.
Cedar shake install on our gable came out beautifully, exactly the traditional look we wanted.
Woodpecker damage got repaired and they flagged it for pest control follow-up, which we appreciated.
Board and batten accent wall matches the sample they showed us during the estimate almost exactly.
Replacement boards were treated properly and you can't tell which sections are original versus repaired.
